Computers

It all started out with an 8088 (monochrom screen, two 5"1/2 floppy drive, no hard drive) with GWBASIC and I've moved my way through Pascal, Perl, PHP, Java, ... I clearly portrait some of the basic characteristics of a geek, but I don't think I earn that status. At home I'm a Linux user. I've swarmed through Mandrake, Red Hat, SuSE (Novell now) and finally landed with Debian. As desktop machine I currently use its derivative Ubuntu. I'm also charmed by FreeBSD and the other BSD's but I still have to find out why. I get money for pretending to be an IT consultant (mostly java and IBM WebSphere Application Server administration and configuration)

I have two official certifications and one extra diploma:

  • IBM Certified Associate Developer WebSphere Studio V5.0
  • Linux Professional Institute : Junior Level Administration (LPIC-1)
  • ICT Software & Data processing - Part I: The hardware-software interface [University of Ghent]
